What Do I Teach?
I help students explore and develop the hidden musical talents and build their musical skills. I work with both children and adults and can elevate your musicianship no matter what level you start at. All ages, proficiency levels are welcome.
Bring any song or style of music you would like to learn, and we can have some fun together!
I got into music as a way to alleviate stress. I found that music often took me to a peaceful place.
Music has the healing power to do that.
Learning to play the piano is a great way to discover a new hobby and also find some relief from the daily challenges of life!
My wish is that the music we study together may comfort and excitement you!
Piano technique
It is crucial to learn the proper techniques from the beginning.
A sturdy foundation can help you excel in your journey. You can't go past a certain level of proficiency on the piano if you don't have the right techniques. If you learn piano in the wrong way, it takes a lot of time to reverse it. Why not learn the right techniques from the start? Having good technique means you will progress faster through your study, you will be less prone to injury because you will be more relaxed and your hands will be stronger, and you will be able to learn more difficult and complex music quickly.
Accompaniment
Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could accompany singers and other instrumentalists on the piano? If you are a singer, you can learn how to accompany yourself in the style of music you choose as well. I also can help you to compose your own intros and endings.
Ear Training
Being able to detect pitch by ear is an important skill for all musicians that promotes a number of musical abilities, including: Music dictation and composition, stronger improvisation skills, and it enables you to play by ear.
Sight reading
Sight-reading helps the ability to feel the rhythm and get the general direction of the melodic notes and harmony just by looking at the music.One of the benefits of sight reading is the ability to play with other musicians. It also enables you to play many songs that you don't even know.
Music Theory
The study of the concepts and compositional methods involved in the creation of music. Music theory examines musical qualities such as timbre, tone, pitch, and texture, as well as compositional elements such as rhythm, dynamics, tempo, and more.
Reharmonization/harmony
Reharmonization is a technic to change the chords to an existing melody. Reharmonization can make simple songs sound more interesting and full.
Arrangement
There are many ways to accompany the same melody lines. Depending on how you arrange the melody, the same song can have many different vibes. Arranging the simple song into sophisticated and jazzy song, energetic dance music into sentimental ballad, straight pop song could be arranged into beautiful instrumental piano music with classical touch. Explore your creativity using simple melody lines.
Exam/shows prep
Music students and gigging musicians struggling to get ready for the recitals, proficiencies, college entrance exams and various shows, I can help you get ready for your next event. If you are not clear of how to practice to achieve particular goals, I can suggest some effective ways to practice.
Song of your choice!
Learn any song you want. For this service, the student has to be at least on the intermediate level,
and up, depending on the difficulty of the song.
